Sydney Airport's international terminal (T1) and domestic terminals (T2 and T3) are on opposite sides of the runways. They are not connected by a walkway, so you need transport to move between them.
Check your airline first
If your international and domestic flights are on one ticket, your airline may offer a transfer for connecting passengers. Ask your airline before you travel.
Other ways to connect
- Train: the Airport Link train runs between the International and Domestic stations, one stop apart. An airport station access fee applies.
- Airport bus: a shuttle bus runs between the terminals. Check Sydney Airport's website for current times and fares.
- Taxi or private car: door to door, with no carrying bags through stations.
When a private transfer helps
With a family, lots of luggage or a tight connection, a pre-booked car is the simplest option. Your chauffeur meets you at one terminal and drops you at the departures kerb of the other.
Allow enough time
Arriving internationally means clearing immigration and customs before you can connect, then checking in again for your domestic flight. Leave a generous buffer between flights.
