Where is Western Sydney Airport?
The airport is at Badgerys Creek, in the Liverpool local government area, roughly 45 to 50 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. It sits close to Penrith, St Marys, Liverpool, Camden and Campbelltown, which makes it especially convenient for travellers from the west and south-west.
Who will it suit?
- Residents of Penrith, Blacktown, Liverpool, Fairfield, Camden, Campbelltown and the Blue Mountains.
- Travellers whose airline flies from WSI.
- Business travellers heading to the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and surrounding employment areas.
Always check which airport your flight departs from. Sydney Airport (Kingsford Smith) and Western Sydney International are different airports, and arriving at the wrong one can mean a long drive across the city.
Getting there
Most passengers will reach the new airport by road. A dedicated metro line between St Marys and the airport is also planned, so check Transport for NSW for its current status before relying on public transport. For door-to-door travel with luggage, a pre-booked chauffeur is the simplest option.
